the_stig 6,614
i`ve been on big job`s where they issue yellow and red cards for health and safety infringements and when your making good money the last thing you need is a red card and be kicked off site ------------------some of it is bollox but when i look back at some of the near misses i`ve seen and had , daft things as well like working without gloves and in trainers ,must of been in the eye hospital with rust or flakes of paint in my eyes through not wearing glasses a dozen times, working on towers and scaffold without hand rails ------ wish someone had been looking after my health and safety back in the day,,

jonah. 775
crazy mate!! not done any site work for years now but f**k me this kunt was mad for it!! guess its all the claims going in that it like that?? thats excatly what the problem is, every chancer and dim wit claiming for a few grand and 9 times out of 10 its there own stupidity that was the root cause of them getting "injured". the bigger the business the more likely the insurance is likely to settle out of court if the company cant prove 100% that they have demonstrated a duty of care. its the main reason for all the red tape, cameras and higher insurance premiums that are strangling business in the Uk, we can thank the yanks for starting it all off with there litigation culture. It was nigh on impossible to do the bit at the top around a skylight sticking to the Health and Safety rules, would have meant getting a couple of grands worth of scaffolding to to a piece that took about an hour to complete. Whole lot would have had to come down to do the rest. We done it off planks, stepladders and buckets! My old man and his workmate use to hang each other over the edge of buildings on bits of rope to do small jobs in awkward to reach places! Old bloke I know got his son to hang him over the parapet on this place by his fecking feet to do a small job once and all! Nutters!
